Scheduling Acceleration Academies, intensive, small group (8-12 students) learning opportunities that take place over school vacations, can help students gain up to six months of learning through a single week. Washington, DC Public Schools’ Summer Acceleration Academies is designed to serve a targeted group of students at each school (approximately 10 to 35 percent) who require more focused support that provide both social emotional development and academic acceleration ahead of next school year.
